DALMEN PRODUCTS LIMITED WARRANTY

1- DALMEN, COMBO, DECKO AND RESIVER SERIES (5-YEAR WARRANTY)

The wood frames, sashes and cladding are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of five (5) years. The screens, exterior grilles, weatherstripping and sealants are guaranteed for a period of one (1) year.

2- COMFORT 2000, SPECTRA AND OMNI SERIES (20-YEAR WARRANTY)

The vinyl components of products fabricated by Dalmen Products Ltd. are guaranteed not to rot, rust, pit, corrode, peel, blister or suffer non-uniform fading discoloration (white only), for a period of twenty (20) years for residential use or ten (10) years for commercial use. The screens, exterior grilles, weather striping and sealants are guaranteed for a period of one (1) year.

3- COLOURED COMBO PVC AND HYBRID ALUMINUM (10-YEAR WARRANTY)

The coloured vinyl and aluminum extrusion components of products fabricated by Dalmen Products Ltd. are guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship. They are warranted not to rot, rust, pit, corrode, peel, blister or suffer non-uniform fading discoloration for a period of ten (10) years for residential use or five (5) years for commercial use. The screens, exterior grilles, weatherstriping and sealants are guaranteed for a period of one (1) year. 4 METAL DOORS (10-YEAR WARRANTY) Metal doors, pre-finished white, are guaranteed by the manufacturer against rust or corrosion for twenty (20) years. Primed doors are guaranteed by the manufacturer against cracking and peeling for a period of ten (10) years. The frames, weatherstrips and sealants are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year. Furthermore, Dalmen warrants against any warping or distortion for two (2) years, provided that the original installation of the door was both square and true. A deflection of ¼” on a height of 79” is deemed acceptable. However, during this warranty period against warping, Dalmen commits to replacing a defective door only one (1) time.

4- METAL DOORS (10-YEAR WARRANTY)

Metal doors, pre-finished white, are guaranteed by the manufacturer against rust or corrosion for twenty (20) years. Primed doors are guaranteed by the manufacturer against cracking and peeling for a period of ten (10) years. The frames, weatherstrips and sealants are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year. Furthermore, Dalmen warrants against any warping or distortion for two (2) years, provided that the original installation of the door was both square and true. A deflection of ¼” on a height of 79” is deemed acceptable. However, during this warranty period against warping, Dalmen commits to replacing a defective door only one (1) time.

5- INSULATED GLASS UNITS: WHITE INEX (10-YEAR WARRANTY)

Sealed double or triple-pane Low-E WHITE INEX thermo units are, under normal conditions, guaranteed by the manufacturer for a period of ten (10) years from the manufacturing date of the unit (indicated on the spacer in between the two glass panes), against the formation of film or deposit of dust on the inner surfaces of the unit. Moreover, for a period of one (1) year, we guarantee our units against thermal breaks of the interior pane only. Labour to replace a defective thermo unit shall be covered free of charge for a period of two (2) years.

N.B.: This warranty apply only when the unit is installed by one of our technicians in a Dalmen frame.

6- INSULATED GLASS UNITS: BLACK SYNERGY INEX (20 YEAR WARRANTY)

Sealed double or triple-pane Low-E SYNERGY BLACK INEX thermo units are, under normal conditions, guaranteed by the manufacturer for a period of twenty (20) years from the manufacture date of the unit (indicated on the spacer in between the two glass panes). This guarantee protects against the formation of film or deposit of dust on the inner surfaces of the unit. This warranty covers 100% of the replacement cost of a defective unit for the first fifteen (15) years. For the remaining five (5) years, cost coverage is calculated on a prorated basis. Moreover, for a period of two (2) years, we guarantee our units against thermal breaks of the interior pane only. Labour to replace a defective thermo unit shall be covered free of charge for a period of five (5) years.

N.B.: This warranty applies only when the unit is installed by one of our technicians in a Dalmen frame.

7- INSULATED GLASS UNITS FOR METAL DOORS (10 YEAR WARRANTY)

Stained triple-pane Low-E thermo units installed in a metal door are, under normal conditions, guaranteed by the manufacturer for a period of ten (10) years from the manufacturing date of the unit (indicated on the spacer in between the two glass panes). This guarantee protects against the formation of film or deposit of dust on the inner surfaces of the unit. Moreover, for a period of one (1) year, we guarantee our units against thermal breaks of the interior pane only.

N.B.: This warranty applies only when the unit is installed by one of our technicians in a Dalmen door.

8- HARDWARE

All hardware components used in Dalmen products are limited to the original manufacturer’s warranty. For all “Truth” hardware, the warranty period is ten (10) years.

9- PAINT APPLIED TO PVC EXTRUSIONS

Dalmen guarantees all paint finishes applied to PVC extrusions used in the manufacturing of their products for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase. This warranty protects against any peeling, cracking or non-uniform discoloration (above 5 E Delta units) under normal conditions. This limited warranty applies only to paint finishes applied by a Dalmen-authorized paint shop. Moreover, this coverage applies only to the raw materials used: in this case, paint. Labour shall be covered, free of charge, for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery.

10- PAINT APPLIED TO METAL AND FIBERGLASS DOORS

Dalmen guarantees all paint finishes applied to metal and fiberglass doors used in the production of their products for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase. This warranty protects against any peeling, cracking or non-uniform discoloration (above 5 E Delta units) under normal conditions. This limited warranty applies only to paint finishes applied by a Dalmen-authorized paint shop. Moreover, this coverage applies only to the raw materials used: in this case, paint. Labour shall be covered, free of charge, for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery.

N.B.: Dalmen guarantees stain finishes applied to the exterior of fiberglass doors for a period of five (5) years. This warranty protects against any peeling, cracking or non-uniform discoloration under normal conditions.

11- RENAISSANCE SERIES WOOD INTERIOR

This limited warranty guarantees that this product, when sold prefinished with stain and varnish, will not peel or crack under normal conditions for a period of five (5) years. Variation in colour and texture is an inherent quality of the wood and must be taken into consideration; it is beyond the scope of this guarantee.
It is the RESPONSIBILITY of the client to protect the interior surfaces of the product so as to ensure that no damage occurs during any and all stages of construction. (Example: Polyethylene film; however ensure window is well ventilated to avoid excessive temperatures that could potentially void thermo and window warranty.)
All products delivered with a NATURAL finish (wood not sealed), must be treated with a varnish or paint within 30 days to ensure proper function of the window; otherwise all warranties will be deemed null and void.
This warranty does not apply to any default resulting from of repeated exposure to humidity or excessive condensation.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

The Limited Warranty stipulated in this document is the only warranty applicable to the DALMEN windows. It is granted in lieu of any warranties otherwise implied by law or equity, and no such warranties shall apply to this DALMEN LIMITED WARRANTY.

1- PRODUCT USE

This Limited Warranty applies only in respect of products used strictly for the purpose for which they were intended.

2- LIMITED WARRANTY LIMITATIONS

DALMEN’S liability is limited solely and exclusively to repair or replacement, at the option of DALMEN, and under no circumstances will DALMEN be liable for incidental or consequential charges such as, but not limited to, labour costs for any purpose, inconvenience, damage or injury to persons or property.

3- REPLACEMENT PARTS OR REPAIRS

DALMEN reserves the right to discontinue or change any product as currently manufactured. If DALMEN determines to make a replacement under the terms of this Limited Warranty and an exact replacement part is not available, DALMEN reserves the right to substitute a part or parts of equal quality at its sole discretion.

4- LABOUR COSTS

If there is a valid warranty claim within the first year, DALMEN will provide any labour it deems necessary. Thereafter, any requested and/or necessary labour charges will apply. In case of failure of sealed insulated glass units, labour is covered for two (2) years, in the case of WHITE-INEX, and five (5) years for thermo panes with the SYNERGY BLACK-INEX.

5- This warranty is limited to the original paid purchase price from DALMEN.

EXCLUSIONS FROM LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE

A.
Exposure to sunlight, air pollutants and normal atmosphere conditions may cause all vinyl surfaces to gradually fade, chalk or suffer an accumulation of surface dirt or stains. These are normal occurrences and are not covered under this Limited Warranty.

B.
Any defect, malfunction or failure to perform which has occurred because of unreasonable use, improper application or failure to perform reasonable or necessary maintenance.

C.
Any damage to the windows or components of the windows caused by settlement or structural defects of the buildings in which they are installed.

D.
Any damage caused by wind, hail, lightning or other acts of God, intentional acts, accidents, negligence or exposure to harmful chemicals or pollutants.

E.
Broken glass or torn screening from any cause whatsoever except as specified in the Insulated Glass Warranty.

F
Damage caused by improper handling or installation.

G.
Any window which has been repaired or modified or attempted to have been repaired or modified by any person other than a duly authorized representative of DALMEN.

H.
Condensation on windows, which may occur as the natural result of humidity within the house or building area and changes in outside/inside temperature, does not indicate a manufacturing defect and is not included in this Limited Warranty.

PROCEDURE AND CONDITIONS FOR CLAIMS UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY

To make a claim under this Limited Warranty, the owner must notify the dealer/ distributor in writing within thirty (30) days following the defect first appearing. Such notification must include the following:

a) Original copy of the invoice.
b) Name and address of the owner.
c) Date of installation.
d) A brief description of the defect for which warranty is requested.

This Limited Warranty is transferable by the original property owner to subsequent owners of the property, provided DALMEN receives written notice of transfer of title within thirty (30) days following the transfer of ownership. Failure to do so shall relieve DALMEN of any further obligation under this Limited Warranty.
